Georgian operator comes in the 8th place at Volvo Construction Equipment European Championship Final
Georgian operator Besik Kalandadze took the 8th place among 30 participants from 16 countries at Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) European Championship Final. In the finals of the Volvo CE-operators club in the Spanish city of Alicante, fir the first time, two participants from Georgia were presented: The Champion of Georgian Special Operations Club Guram Adikashvili and Vice-Champion Besik Kalandadze.
“It was a great responsibility for me to be among the best operators of Europe. To tell you the truth, I was very nervous too, because this was the first time I was participating in such an important event in the name of Georgia. As expected, the tasks were very difficult and there were very strong opponents. I think we will show better results in the following years, taking into account more experience we have”, – Besik Kalandadze says.
The organizer of the event was Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE), a Swedish company based in Europe. In the finals some of the best operators of European road construction equipment compete with each other in maneuvering and precision.
The winner is the one who will perform the task with the least possible fines in the shortest time. The participants of the final were competing with each other in road-building heavy machinery and excavators. Austrian operator Johannes Unger became the winner of this year’s Volvo CE.
The first competition organized by Volvo Construction Equipment was held in Germany in 1998. Today, the championship has more than 27,000 participants. Participating countries run local championship, after which the winners take part in the Volvo CE final.
“Holding similar competitions are a good opportunity to emphasize the role of operators in these works. We create cars for people and we want people to feel comfortable with these cars. It is important and we are happy that Georgia has been involved in the event for the first time this year and Georgian operators participated in the final. I think it was a good start for Georgia”, – Andrei Komov, the Volvo CE Russia and CIS Director General said.
In Georgia, the Competition of the Special Operations Club is held under the leadership of “Elite Motors”.
“The operators’ club idea is the development of this sphere in Georgia, specifically the sphere of operators” – Teimuraz Makhviladze, sales and marketing manager of “Elite Motors” said.
Elite Motors, one of the leaders of the construction machinery, offers innovative special equipment for the implementation of infrastructural projects. “Elite Motors” is the official dealer of such brands in Georgia, as Swedish Volvo Construction Equipment, Atlas Copco, Italian BM Crusher Italy, Mosa, Liebherr and German Wacker Neuson.
